Playhouse Arts produces the Fourth Annual 02F: Zero To Fierce Festival. This ten-day-long celebration of creative womxn around the world culminates on International Women’s Day on Sunday, March 8th.
WOMEN IN PUBLIC ART: WHY IT MATTERS
Ms. Norheim will discuss mobility, flexibility, social participation, direct involvement and collaborations, and her international work as a woman in the public art realm.

2018 : LIFE-BOATS LECTURE, LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA : 10. JULY
Marit Benthe Norheim and her husband sculptor Claus Ørntoft were invited to teach for a week on CSSSA, California State Summer School for the Arts, in Los Angeles, in their Visual Arts Program.
At the same time Marit Benthe Norheim held a lecture on Life-boats for the whole school. It made such an impression on Lena Jones, a student from Creative Writing progam, that she wrote this great poem about Life-boats.

The book A Shipload of Women’s Memories. Narratives across Borders (Aalborg University Press 2017) is based on a unique collaboration between Ann-Dorte Christensen, professor of sociology and gender studies at Aalborg University and visual artist Marit Benthe Norheim.

2016 : LIFE-BOATS ARE LAUNCHED IN AALBORG : 18. JUNE
AALBORG HARBOUR FRONT When Aalborg hold their annual Regatta, Longing, Life and Memories will sail together for the first time. Life-boats is revealed and celebrated before they embark on their maiden voyage in the Limfjorden. Where they will sail from June to October visiting several cities as ambassadors for Aarhus 2017 until entering in Aarhus.
Life-boats launched from Stigsborg Brygge in Nørresundby on 18. June 2016 at 10.00, where they start their maiden voyage in crossing the Limfjorden, where they will arrive at Musikkens Hus Aalborg at. 10.00. Here they will partly take place an open event at the Harbour and a closed event for invited guests in Musikkens Hus. The boats will then be located in the Aalborg harbour where you can experience them until the 22. June where they sail to Gjøl
2016 : TESTSAILING, LONGING AND MEMORIES : 20. APRIL - 3. MAY
STRANDBY HARBOUR Over a period of 14 days, ”My ship is loaded with Longing" and " My ship is loaded with Memories ", where prepared by lead and batteries in Mygdal. After that they were transported to Strandby, where they was lifted into the sea to test their sea capability, and to see how they lay in the water.The Captains, who will sail the boats on their travels, were invited to sail the boats for the first time. Everything went well, and all three ships are now almost ready for their first trip
2015 : TESTSAILING, MY SHIP IS LOADED WITH LIFE - STRANDBY : 30 OCTOBER
STRANDBY PORT. The last weekend in October 2015 "My ship is loaded with Life" came on water for the first time, to test how she lay in the water. It was an exciting and joyful weekend.
2015 : CASTINGPARTY, MY SHIP IS LOADED WITH MEMORIES : 11-15 SEPTEMBER
The last castingparty of “My ship is loaded with Memories, was held with 130 volunteers in the studio in Mygdal. It was a great weekend with lots of fabulous people.
2015 : LAND SHAPE, LAND ART FESTIVAL - HANSTHOLM : 4-6 JUNI
Marit Benthe Norheim participate with a presentation of Lifeboats and Life-boats models in 1:1. At LAND SHAPE Ruth Wilhelmine Meyer will realize parts of the "Life-sound project." It involves particularly women and children at the festival in a live composition, a sound sculpture forming an immateriel version of Marit Benthe Norheims Life-Boats.
The theme of the event was “Regional Resources” which highlighted the local potential and resources. The idea was to combine the art world processes with other sectors of society. All the LAND-SHAPE projects communicated with the local citizens, professionals and institutions in various ways.LAND-SHAPE defines resources as raw materials, products and businesses; volunteers and associations; special knowledge, the uniqueness of various sites, the magnificent landscape in North Jutland, artists and cultural institutions.
2015 : THE JOURNEY TO 2017 - RIDEHUSET AARHUS : 14-18. APRIL
Aarhus 2017 European Capital of Culture, presented 30% of there program in Ridehuset. Where more than 60 different project owners presented their project to Aarhus 2017. Life-boats were i.a. represented by the big chest for "My ship is loaded with Longing." And Benthe gave a lecture on Life-boats "from vision to reality" on the big stage on Saturday.

The Danish Minister of Culture Marianne Jelved and the Mayor of Hjørring city, Arne Boelt visited Claus Ørntoft og Marit Benthe Norheims studio's in Mygdal. Here they were shown the Life-boats project.
2014 : RAINBOW BUNKERLOVE FESTIVAL - HIRTSHALS, DENMARK : 6. JULY
Marit Benthe Norheim in collaboration with Sigrid Norheim Ørntoft and Lars Hegndal with the exhibition ”Ruth” A work featuring sculpture, video and dance telling the story of Ruth, the daughter of a German policeman during WWII. Ruth is one of the figurerheads to “My ship is loaded with Memories”

Casting weekend in Marit Benthe Norheim’s studio in Mygdal, Denmark. With committed and happy people. There were about 120 voluntary participants in the course of the weekend.

The exhibition was opened on the 30th of May by the Danish Minister of Culture Uffe Elbæk. At the opening, there was also a speech by the Norwegian Ambassador in Denmark Jorg Willy Bronebakk. And a vocal performance from "Life-sounds" by Ruth Wilhelmine Meyer.

As part of the art festival Port2010 in North Jutland in November, the treasure chest belonging to "My ship is loaded with Longing" was placed in Friis citycenter for collecting letters of hope, longings and dreams. The poet and literature critic Lars Bukdahl read his own love poems by the treasure chest on the 19th of November
