Recommendation of the Life-Boats project

 

Marit Benthe Norheim’s “Life-Boats” project is an epic artistic vision of how to connect people and regions. The project traverses boundaries and creates contact, creating connections to our past, in which vikings set out in their ships on the seas and rivers of Europe, bringing Danish goods and customs to far-flung places, and returning with impressions and artefacts from other cultures.

 

Denmark is still a great seafaring nation, the Triangle Region alone has Fredericia, Kolding, Middelfart and Vejle, port cities in contact with the rest of the world by water. The Triangle Cultural Region warmly recommends the Life-Boats project. This could be a joint project with the Region of Southern Denmark, the Cultural Region of Funen and the Cultural Region of Southern Jutland.
